SAND FILTER - CHLORINE DOSING UNIT
A sand filter is a device used to physically remove particles, dirt, and other unwanted substances from water. It is generally used in the initial treatment phase of water and is a simple yet effective method.
Working Principle:
Filtration: As water passes over the sand, large and small particles are trapped in the sand grains. The sand layer ensures water purification.
Cleaning: After a certain period of operation, the sand filter may require cleaning. This cleaning process is often called backwashing. During backwashing, the water flow direction is reversed, removing dirt from the sand layer.
